July was a busy month for our Club!!
We started things off with our Annual Stampede BBQ at John and Katrina's.
It was a beautiful evening with a delightful meal and the repartee of our MC
Gary Bain.
President Sheila was "officially" announced while Past-President Brian favoured
us with his final address.
The month concluded with outgoing Treasurer Henry Chorney presenting
the Budgets for the new Rotary Year. These were passed by unanimous consent
of Members on Hand.
We continue to struggle with finding help for the Youth Exchange Committee.
Any interested members are invited to contact Robb Leibel, Chair.
Our experience with Michi truly serves as a fine example of how "a boy can grow
into a man" from his time here.
Other highlights from July include a visit from our District Governor Dan Doherty
including his "travelling roadshow", a truly impressive RV decorated with Rotary
graphics. Dan has big plans for the year and will do a great job in your correspondent's
We also heard from our neighbors to the East, North Hill Shopping Centre about an
exciting project to upgrade the meeting room at the Hillhurst Community Hall.
Paula Lee, Marketing Coordinator for North Hill gave a very informative presentation
and invited the Club to participate. We await further developments on this item.
